The New Mercedes-Benz SL-Roadster at a Glance
The inevitable question is “What’s new about this Roadster?” Actually, it’s unchanged since the last iteration, which means that if you’ve driven one of these before, you’ll know basically what to expect.
If you’re new to the Mercedes-Benz lineup, however, the 2019 SL-Roadster is a great place to get started. The interior embodies luxury. It’s spacious, comfortable, immaculately-detailed, and made with upscale materials. And though convertibles are not necessarily known for ample trunk space, this one offers some decent storage. That’s true even when you have the hardtop roof folded down.
The SL-Roadster’s acceleration, powered by a 362-horsepower 3.0L V6 base engine, is effortlessly dynamic, which makes it great fun to drive. It also has excellent handling, allowing you to feel totally in control of the vehicle even when you’re going at top speeds.
Given that the SL-Roadster hasn’t been updated in a few years, this will be the last year of the current generation. It’s going out with a bang and still stands up to any other luxury sports convertibles on the market.
